AHEPA FAMILY CHAPTER NEWS
Hercules Spartan Chapter 26, Philadelphia, Pa.
The chapter mourns the passing of Brother Ernest
Chletchos on Nov. 24, 2014. He was 97. Brother Ernie
was a pillar of the community, and was engaged in
many civic programs. He touched the lives of many
and will be sorely missed. May his memory be eternal.
Chapter 51, Yonkers, N.Y.
presented the Honorable
Mike Spano, mayor of
Yonkers, with a public
service award for his
support of the community at the chapter's 90th
held at Xavier's X20 on the Hudson. Mayor Spano is a 15-year member
of AHEPA Chapter 51. Over its 90-year history, Chapter 51 has presented
more than $80,000 in scholarship awards to worthy high school students.

The chapter hosted Supreme President Phillip
Frangos for a visitation, Dec. 8, 2014. Sons of
Pericles Supreme President James Googas, Maids
of Athena Grand President Deanna Socaris,
Supreme Governor Phil Vogis, Maids of Athena
Grand Governor Lea Koutsakis, District 6 Governor
Tom Dushas, District 6 Secretary Stefan Kalogridis,
District 13 Secretary Themis Frangos were in attendance. In addition, Past Supreme Governors Peter
Baltis and Spyros Vasilakis and several District 6
chapter officers were present.
AHEPA Family of Albany, N.Y.
Gold Coast Chapter 456,
The Albany AHEPA, Sons and Maids donated gifts and toys for the children and young adults who are being treated and cared for by the Bernard
& Millie Duker Children's Hospital at Albany Medical Center. Special
thanks and recognition are given to the Arthur Kontogiannis Family for
its continuous support and dedication to the Bernard & Millie Duker
Children's Hospital at Albany Medical Center. The following individuals
from the Albany Medical Center are also appreciated for their leadership
and support of the Children's Hospital and other hospital entities: Robert
Saba, director of Development, Grateful Patients and Families; and Terri
Waite, child life specialist.
Chapter President John Levas received the AHEPA
Region 3 "Certificate of Recognition" for the chapter's outreach programs in their community.
Supreme Governor Phil Vogis and District 6 Gov.
Tom Dushas presented the certificate during a dinner reception held at the Port Washington Yacht
Club in the Bay of the Long Island Sound. More
than 40 Ahepans attended.
