AHEPA FAMILY CHAPTER NEWS
District 23
Chapter CJ1, Toronto, Ontario
The chapter hosted a gala fundraiser, Reaching for the Stars: Anything
is Possible, which raised $25,000 for the SOS Children's Villages in
Vari, Greece, Nov. 13, 2014, at the Grand Luxe Event Boutique.
Proceeds from the event supported the children's cost of living, food
expenses, educational-professional training, medical expenses, psychological and psychosocial support, and harmonization with the
social environment. Renown Chef, Peter Minaki, prepared the dinner
menu while Brother Angelos Tsarouchas entertained with a comedy
show. Mrs. Voula Mclaughlin and Mr. Anastasios Moussas co-chaired
the event.
District 24
Polikos Aster Chapter CJ8, Winnipeg, Manitoba
The chapter joined with Daughters of Penelope Elysia Chapter
124 to host a banquet to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the
AHEPA's scholarship program and mark the 74th anniversary of
Oxi Day, Nov. 1, 2014. Scholarship recipients from across the 25
years attended. In total, from 1990 to 2014,
92 AHEPA scholarships totaling $120,500
have been awarded to worthy students
by the Winnipeg AHEPA Family. Chapter

District 28
Chapter 608, Stuttgart, Germany
The chapter participated in, and organized, several philanthropic in recent
months. In early December, the chapter participated in the collection of
humanitarian aid which was organized by St. Athanasios Church in Bietigheim,
Germany. The Daughters of Penelope visited and offered Christmas presents
to all the girls in the Orphanage ''Melissa'' in Thessaloniki, Greece. Also during
the holidays, the chapter's package with 80 flame retardant firefighting uniforms arrived in Mytiline, Lesvos, Greece. Finally, the chapter's ''New Year
Eve running race'' to support the rebuilding of Saint Nicholas National Shrine
was a success with its five AHEPA family runners crossing the finish line and
collecting almost 2,000 Euro in donations.
