Ya'alon, and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Tzipi Hotovely,
among other Israeli government officials. The delegation also
toured Palmachim Air Base located in Yavne, Israel, and visited The Knesset to meet with members of Israel's parliament.
Moreover, in an emotional moment, the delegation visited Salonika and Greece Jewry Heritage Center where it had
the opportunity to meet and converse with Greek Holocaust
survivors during a luncheon.
"They had terrible stories to tell, but they also sang Greek
songs for us and offered us Greek food," Mossaidis told The
National Herald.
AHEPA and AHI representatives also had an audience
with His Beatitude Patriarch of Jerusalem and All Palestine
Theophilos III and toured the Holy Sites, including the Church
of the Holy Sepulchre.
Cyprus and Greece
In Cyprus, the delegation met with President Nicos Anastasiades
and Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulidis, Jan. 13 and 14. It also
met with: Defense Minister Christoforos Fokaides, Minister of
Commerce, Industry and Tourism Yiorgos Lakkotrypis, members of Parliament led by Prodromos Prodromou, deputy chairperson, Foreign and European Affairs Committee; and Photis
Photiou, commissioner to the Presidency for Humanitarian
Affairs and Overseas Cypriots.
In Greece, the delegation met with Prime Minister Alexis
Tsipras, Minister of Defense Panos Kammenos, Minister of
State Nikos Pappas, Economy, Development and Tourism
Minister George Stathakis, Alternate Tourism Minister Elena
Kountoura and several high-level government officials, including a briefing at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
