6 Governor, Kokotas
organized a community
rally at Ground Zero of
the World Trade Center
to draw attention to the
need for the Port Authority of New York/New Jersey to cut the
red tape and rebuild Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church--the
only House of Worship destroyed on September 11. The event
garnered city-wide media placement.
Kokotas is a successful restauranteur as the owner of Tom's
Restaurant and Tom's Coney Island. Through his restaurants,
Kokotas is active in the Brooklyn community, giving back in
support of local schools, domestic violence survivors and their
families, and the homeless. As a proponent of education, he
sponsors AHEPA family scholarships in New York and New
Jersey.
Kokotas is a dedicated parishioner of Three Hierarchs Greek
Orthodox Church, Brooklyn, where he served as treasurer for
two terms, co-chaired the church's renovation, and co-chaired
the community's festival. The Kokotas family holds membership
in the Archbishop Iakovos Leadership 100 Endowment
Fund.
Kokotas and his wife, Kalliope, have a daughter, Katerina.
They reside in Brooklyn.

AHEPA Family Elections
The organizations that comprise the AHEPA family also held
elections. Kathy Bizoukas, Munster, Ind., was elected Daughters
of Penelope Grand President; Timothy Noitsis, Toronto, Ont.,
Canada., was re-elected Sons of Pericles Supreme President;
and Maria Ana Pantelous, Cherry Hill, N.J., was elected Maids of
Athena Grand President.
Greece's President: AHEPA has become a role model
through remarkable service
The 99th AHEPA Family Supreme Convention in Athens featured
several high-profile events to honor excellence in public service
and humanitarianism.
AHEPA presented President of the Hellenic Republic Katerina
Sakellaropoulou with the Order's highest honor, the AHEPA
Socrates Award. Supreme President George G. Horiates presented
the award at the Presidential Mansion, July 27. 2021. President
Sakellaropoulou is Greece's first female president.
Defense Minister Panagiotopoulos, flanked by HNDGS Chief Gen.
Floros and Amb. Pyatt, proudly displays the AHEPA Pericles Award he
received.
