Foundations Award Tens of
Thousands
AHEPA's commitment to the " E " in AHEPA runs deep within the Order as
several district and chapter educational foundations achieved milestones
recently.
District 2-Clearwater AHEPA family scholarship awards presentation.
The
AHEPA District 10 Educational Foundation proudly announced it

awarded more than $78,000 to 60 well-deserving high school and college
students, at the Genesys Banquet Center in Grand Blanc, Mich., August 21,
2021. The $78,000 is the largest sum of scholarship awards presented by
the foundation in its 45-year history. AHEPA Chapter 141, Flint, and DOP
Iris Chapter 242, Grand Blanc, hosted the scholarship awards event.
Alexander the Great Chapter 29, Houston, awarded $63,000 in scholarships,
August 8, 2021. His Eminence Metropolitan Tarasios, newly
elected Metropolitan of Rhodopolis and appointed Director of the Patriarch
Athenagoras Institute of Orthodox Theology in California, was in attendance
to recognize and congratulate the scholarship recipients.
AHEPA Mother Lodge Chapter 1 Educational Foundation celebrated
35 years of existence by awarding $73,400 to 49 scholarship recipients
in May. The Foundation currently stands at $2,132,000. Founded in 1986,
the Foundation has awarded $1,146,800 to over 889 recipients for scholastic
achievement and financial need. In 1993, the Board of Directors
expanded to include the Daughters of Penelope. In 2002, the Board of
Directors expanded to include members of AHEPA Prometheus Chapter
519, Marietta, Ga.
Also in May, Marathon Chapter 2, Charlotte, N.C. presented $25,000 in
scholarship awards to area students.
The AHEPA Mother Lodge Chapter 1 Educational Foundation
founding board.
In Florida, the Citrus District 2 Scholarship Foundation teamed-up
with the AHEPA family of Clearwater to award $14,100 in scholarships.
The AHEPA family of Clearwater awarded $12,600 and the District 2
Scholarship Foundation awarded $1,500. Since the inception of the
AHEPA Family Scholarship Fund, approximately $200,000 in scholarships
have been awarded. Brother John Tsagaris chairs the Scholarship
Committee that is comprised of ten AHEPA family members.
