AHEPA One Provides Safety Kits,
Marks World Elder Abuse Day
The goal
to provide each resident of AHEPA One Senior
Apartments, Decatur, Ga., with a safety kit by the fall got off to a
great start thanks to the ladies of the LA Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta,
Inc. They dropped off flashlights to begin the effort to assemble
the contents of the safety kits. The kits will include items such
as: flashlights, batteries, masks, hand sanitizers, and more. Local
community organizations are providing the donations.
The residents at AHEPA One also celebrated World Elder Abuse
LaVergne Residents
Enjoy a Summer BBQ
The AHEPA 343, Inc. Board of Directors held its annual
Summer Lunch for the residents of AHEPA 343 Senior
Apartments, LaVergne, Tenn., July 10, 2021. The residents
had a wonderful time and enjoyed delicious hamburgers,
hot dogs, barbecue chicken, macaroni salad,
and several desserts. The AMC personnel and residents
were grateful to the Board of Directors for hosting the
barbeque.
New Port Richey Residents
Enjoy " Picnic and Bingo in
the Park "
The residents of AHEPA 489 Senior Apartments, New Port
Richey, Fla., were treated to " Picnic and Bingo in the Park "
by Humana in early June. The local Humana representative
rented the picnic shelter, provided prizes for Bingo, drinks,
and healthy snacks. The representative arranged for a doctor
to talk about " pandemic fatigue " and the importance of staying
in touch with family and friends. He also spoke about depression
in seniors.
The Humana representative gave everyone a Bingo card
they could fill out at home. He came to the property several
days later and gave prizes to the residents who participated.
The representative also coordinated transportation with the
county bus system so that all residents could attend.

Awareness Day with games and lunch. The Board of Directors provided
hotdogs, coleslaw, and baked beans. AMC staff provided
information about WEAAD as well as bookmarks and stickers for
the residents.
North Miami Residents Go
with the FLOW
Eighteen North Miami residents participated in the Florida on
Wheels (FLOW) Program which was made possible by AMC staff
who arranged to bring the program onsite. Through FLOW, residents
are able to renew a driver's license, obtain a replacement
driver's license, change their address, obtain an ID card, or renew
a vehicle registration.
