Mason, who plays goalball, is a two-time
Paralympian medalist (one silver at the
2016 Olympics Paralympic Games in Rio
and one bronze in Tokyo 2020-2021). She
was born with congenital glaucoma and
cataracts and today has no vision in her
left eye and limited vision in her right eye.
Ahepans and the AHEPA National
Athletics Department fund and sponsor
the scholarship awards aimed to support
each student-athlete's academic aspirations
and their development as future
leaders.

Katsimigas-Iliopoulos Team Wins AHEPA Cup Beach
Volleyball Championship
Sun, fun, and a bit of competition were abound at the 2022
AHEPA Cup Beach Volleyball Tournament hosted by Lepanto
1571 Chapter HJ-18, Nafpaktos, Greece, July 29 to 31, 2022.
The team of Konstantina Katsimigas-Vassilis Iliopoulos
captured the championship, winning two sets to zero over
Ioanna Gogousou-Surtse Emrah. The bronze medal was won
by Katerina Gogousou-Konstantinos Vassilakos, who prevailed
2-0 over Virginia Syfianos-Vangelis Tsirogiannis.

Twenty-one teams entered and 16 qualified for the tournament.
AHEPA was proud and honored that U.S. Ambassador George
Tsunis returned to his Nafpaktos roots and joined in the celebration
of the participants. AHEPA also appreciated the attendance of
several ministerial and local Greek officials, including the mayor
of Nafpaktos and the head of the Hellenic Volleyball Federation.
