Boston Consul General Presented
with City Proclamation
Board of Trustees Secretary Alex Geourntas, who serves as Boston's City
Clerk, presented outgoing Consul General of Greece in Boston Stratos
Efthymiou with a city proclamation for his outstanding service as consul
general for the past five years. Geourntas made the presentation at the
Maliotis Cultural Center, Brookline, Mass., June 21, 2022.
Consul General Efthymiou is credited for being proactive with the New
England Greek American community and for the establishment of direct
flights from Boston to Athens via Delta Airlines.
AHEPA wishes Consul General Efthymiou all the best at his new post in
Brussels, Belgium.
AHEPA Family Attends Consecration of Saint Nicholas
The AHEPA family leadership attended the
Consecration of Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox
Church and National Shrine at the World Trade
Center, July 4, 2022.
Supreme President Jimmy Kokotas,
then-Daughters of Penelope Grand President
Kathy Bizoukas and Chairman of the Board
Nicholas A. Karacostas, PSP, attended.
Executive Director Basil Mossaidis accompanied
them.
Saint Nicholas was the only House of
Worship destroyed on September 11.
In 2019, AHEPA fulfilled its $1 million donation
to the campaign to rebuild Saint Nicholas
and laid one of the 24 white marble stones at
the Ground Blessing Ceremony in 2014.
