AHEPA Chapter 69, Camden, N.J.

Gust C. Kraras Chapter 61, Reading, Pa.
The chapter paid for the purchase and delivery costs of two
convection ovens for use in the kitchen at Sts. Constantine
and Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Reading. Chapter
Treasurer Tony Phyrillas presented a check to Parish Council
President Christos Dikos. The ovens will be used to cook at the
church's annual food festival and for baking by the St. Xenia
Philoptochos Society. " Due to the restrictions posed by the
COVID-19 pandemic, the church's financial situation has been
a challenge for the parish council, " Chapter President George
Giovanis said. " The members of our service organization continue to stand ready in support of the church. "

$2,000 to four local
charities to help feed
those who are in need.
The Ahepans presented a $500 donation each to: Central
Pennsylvania Food Bank, the Bethesda Mission, the Boys Club
of Greater Harrisburg, and the Philoptochos of Holy Trinity
Greek Orthodox Cathedral of Camp Hill, Pa. Brother Sempeles,
who passed unexpectedly 18 months ago, donated his time
to several civic and charitable organizations in the Greater
Harrisburg area. The chapter has collected and donated a total
of $5,000 in Sempeles' memory.

The chapter congratulates Ahepan Marco
DiBattista upon being
sworn-in as mayor of
Pennsauken Township,
N.J. Brother DiBattista
previously served on the
township committee.
He is the first Ahepan to
serve as mayor in the chapter's 95-year history. The chapter plans
to commemorate this occasion at a later date and the Brothers
are proud of Mayor DiBattista's accomplishments. Correction:
In the Winter 2020 edition of The Ahepan, the chapter reported
Nikitas Moustakas as the first elected councilman of Mount Laurel
from the chapter's community. The chapter informs the first elected
councilman was Brother Larry Chatzidakis, who rose to serve in
the New Jersey State Assembly in 1984.

Monroe Chapter 75, New Brunswick, N.J.
The chapter conducted several philanthropic drives to meet its
mission. Brothers Carmine Albanese and Dean Solomos presented a $1,000 donation to St. Peter's University Hospital, New
Brunswick, to defray the cost of Personal Protective Equipment
(PPE). Brothers Bill Fottis and Dean Solomos travelled to Franklin
Township, N.J. and made a $600 donation to Franklin Food Bank
where a $100 donation will feed a family of three for one month.
Brothers Tom Sulich and Carmine Albanese presented a $600
donation to Elijah's Promise Soup Kitchen. The chapter plans
to fundraise to make donations to Fish, Inc, a soup kitchen in
Dunellen, N.J., as well as coordinating pizza deliveries to the first
responders that support the Piscataway location. Finally, another
donation will be made to St George Greek Orthodox Church,
New Brunswick.
