AMC Completes 87 Booster Clinics
AHEPA Affordable Housing Management Company (AMC) completed
87 Covid-19 vaccination booster clinics at AHEPA Senior
Apartments communities nationwide, providing nearly 1,900
people with booster shots.
The clinics were held on-site at AMC communities from
mid-October to mid-December. Residents were also offered
the opportunity to receive other immunizations, such as the
flu shot.
" Our service coordination team collaborated with national
and local pharmacy chains and health departments to help protect
one of our nation's most vulnerable populations, especially
as variants surged, " AMC President and CEO Steve Beck said. " I
am proud of our personnel who ensured our residents continued
to have safe access to the vital supportive services they need
to live independently during the pandemic. It is a testament to
their training and experience in the field. "
From January to May 2021, AMC completed 211 Covid-19
vaccination clinics at 85 of its communities. Nearly 6,200 doses
were administered as part of the CDC's Pharmacy Partnership
for Long-term Care Program.
In total, AMC helped facilitate the administration of nearly
8,100 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine to residents, employees,
and volunteers in 2021.

North Miami Community Remains Active
The North Miami Senior Apartments community remains quite active. Residents
learned about heart disease and how manage their medication through an educational
program, and when possible, enjoy events with live music, prizes, and bingo
and dominos games, in a safe fashion. Fifty-six residents also took advantage of the
Emergency Broadband Benefit program (EBB), in partnership with TruConnect, and
secured internet equipment at a discounted price of $20, along with free internet.
Additionally, Service Coordinator Roberto Diaz-Ramirez volunteered at Telemundo
Channel 51's annual Liga Contra el Cáncer telethon, an important community event
that raised $3.9 million to help patients diagnosed with cancer.
AMC Secures On-site Grocery Deliveries, Farmers Markets
Keeping residents on-site during the pandemic has been a key to maintaining their health and safety.
Every November and December in Greenville, S.C., Loaves & Fishes delivers tons of groceries
to the residents of AHEPA 242 Senior Apartments. Loaves & Fishes, a food service organization,
reduces hunger in Greenville County through rescuing food that would otherwise be wasted and
delivering it to partner agencies for distribution to those in need.
Additionally, a weekly local food truck delivery and donations of bread and pastries from
Publix Super Market also deliver food to the residents.
AHEPA 242 Property Manager Catherine Jennings and Service Coordinator Keona Morris help
to coordinate the deliveries.
In New Port Richey, Fla., AHEPA 489 Senior Apartments Service Coordinator Kathy Harrison
worked hard to get a local Farmers Market on-site. About 25 residents participated. They were
able to pick from a great selection and did not have to leave the property to get nutritious vegetables
vital to their health and well-being.
