Clearwater Issues AHEPA Centennial Proclamation
AHEPA congratulates Steve Tsagaris Chapter 356, Clearwater,
Fla., for securing a proclamation commemorating AHEPA's centennial
anniversary from Clearwater Mayor Frank V. Hibbard on
May 5, 2022.
" We commend the Ahepans of Clearwater and sincerely thank
Mayor Hibbard for this very special recognition of AHEPA's centennial
anniversary and the meaningful contributions of the brothers
of Chapter 356, " Supreme President Jimmy Kokotas said.
Sacramento AHEPA Family Remembers an AHEPA Founder
In commemoration of AHEPA's centennial, Sacramento Chapter
153 Ahepans and Daughters of Penelope Artemis Chapter 5
members visited the Sacramento Historic Cemetery to hold a
memorial ceremony at the gravesite of one of the eight AHEPA
founders, Spiros J. Stamos, March 25, 2022.
Father Robinson from Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church
performed a Trisagion, and Ahepans performed a modified version
of the AHEPA funeral ceremony. The AHEPA family members
also laid flowers with an olive wreath at Brother Stamos'
gravesite. Brother Constantino Kuchulis, a 67-year Ahepan who
knew Brother Stamos personally, spoke about how wonderful
and delightful a person he was.
Dedication of FDR " War President " Bust Anniversary
Remembered
In commemoration of AHEPA's centennial, Delphi Chapter
25, Manhattan, N.Y., paid homage to one of the AHEPA's most
prominent members, and one of its own, President Franklin

Library and Home to mark the 75th anniversary of the " War
President " bust presentation by AHEPA.

Delano Roosevelt, on the momentous occasion of the 75th anniversary
of the presentation of the FDR " War President " bust by
the Order of AHEPA. The commemoration occurred at the FDR
Presidential Library and Home in Hyde Park, N.Y., April 30,
2022. It was originally scheduled for 2020 but it was delayed
due to the pandemic.
AHEPA unveiled the FDR " War President " bust on October
28, 1945, six months after his death. Former First Lady Eleanor
Roosevelt attended and wrote, " The bust is a fine one, I think,
and I like the simple inscription, " The War President. " In 1943,
the AHEPA Supreme Lodge presented President Roosevelt with a
miniature replica of the bust in the Oval Office of the White House.
