The AHEPAN Summer 2022 - 23

Ninety Ahepans from across 14 AHEPA chapters in Europe
attended the conference where a mass initiation was held.
Ambassador Kalamvrezos was among the men initiated.
A cocktail reception and a welcome dinner hosted by the
Brussels-based AHEPA " The European Eagle " Chapter 610 were
part of the event schedule.
" We commend our European brothers for organizing an
exceptional conference, and sincerely thank them for their hospitality, "
Kokotas said.
Supreme Vice President Atsaves, Board of Trustees Vice
Chairman George Horiates, PSP; Supreme Governor Region
10 Yiannis Mitropoulos, and Past Supreme President Andrew
Zachariades accompanied Kokotas and addressed the conference.
District 28 Governor Dimosthenis Mammonas, Past District 28
Governor Georgios Kritikos, and Chapter 610 officers presented
each member of the leadership delegation with an award in
recognition for their contributions to Hellenism and the Order's
expansion in Europe.
Delegation Tours Halki Seminary
The delegation reached its final destination when it arrived for a
visit to the Ecumenical Patriarchate, April 15 to 17.
Supreme Vice President Atsaves, Supreme President Kokotas, and
MOA Grand President Pantelous at Halki Seminary.
His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and Supreme
President Kokotas.
Led by Supreme President Jimmy Kokotas, the delegation
met with His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew
and toured the Theological School of Halki, a seminary for the
training of Orthodox clergy that has been closed by the Turkish
government since 1971.
Maids of Athena Grand President Maria Ana Pantelous and
Supreme Vice President Lou Atsaves accompanied Supreme
President Kokotas to the Patriarchate.
" We were blessed to have a warmhearted audience with His
All- Holiness, " Kokotas said. " We sincerely appreciated the generous
time he afforded us. Our commitment to advocate for religious
freedom, especially for the Ecumenical Patriarchate, and
for the seminary to be reopened, is steadfast. "
