Supreme President
Concludes Successful Hellas
District 25 Visitation
Supreme President Jimmy Kokotas completed a successful
visitation to AHEPA chapters in Greece in February 2022.
During the visit, which began February 17, Supreme
President Kokotas oversaw the initiation of several new candidates
into the Order. He also met with officers representing
chapters located in Athens, Volos, Larissa, Lamia, Katerini,
and Velestino. He concluded his visitation with a visit to
Ioannis Trantas Chapter HJ-15, Kozani, Greece. He visited
the Municipal Library of Kozani where the mayor of Kozani,
Lazaros Maloutas, welcomed him. He also visited the Church
of Agios Nikolaos and the Folklore Museum.
Supreme Governor Region 10 Yannis Mitropoulos and
Hellas District 25 Governor Kostas Varsamis accompanied the
supreme president.
Supreme President Kokotas flanked by Ahepans during a visitation to
Olympios Zeus Chapter HJ-39, Katerini, Greece.

Dear Editor:
The enclosed correspondence is in response to an article that recognized Brother George
(Demakakos) Demas who had passed last year a few days after Veterans Day 2021.
Brother George was my father's youngest brother, and as The Ahepan Spring 2022
article states, served with the U.S. Army with Headquarters, 504th Parachute Infantry
Regiment (PIR), 82nd Airborne Division during the Second World War, where he survived
multiple wounds at the 82nd Airborne Division drop at Nijmegen Holland during
Operation Market Garden.
After recovering from his wounds, Uncle George eventually settled in Atlanta, Georgia,
where he married and raised a family until retirement, and where he continued to serve
the local Greek Orthodox church and community.
A sincere thank you for recognizing our Ahepan Brother. A true member of America's
Greatest Generation.
