District 6
Trojan Chapter 306, Troy, N.Y.
Meteora Chapter 455, West Nyack, N.Y.
The chapter presented four scholarship awards to Efremia
Geralis Christopher Huban, Peter Krumpholz, and Michael
Stanco at its Scholarship Awards Ceremony held January 8,
2023, at St. Basil Greek Orthodox Church in Troy. Each recipient
received a $1,250 scholarship. Geralis studies business marketing
at Hofstra University. Huban studies finance at Bentley
University. Krumpholz studies information technology and web
science at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Stanco studies political
science and history at Union College. The brothers take great
pride in supporting these young adults and their future dreams.
The chapter, in cooperation with the parish of Saints Constantine
and Helen, organized the annual Kathara Deftera celebration. Led
by Father Michael Palamara, the event welcomed special guests
District 6 Governor Dean Moskos, DOP District 6 Governor Lainie
Damaskos-Christou, Lauren Biniaris, and the children of Saint
Basil Academy, as well as families and children from Saints
Constantine and Helen. The festivities featured traditional fasting
(nistisimo) food prepared by Master Chef Dimitri Karavanas,
Greek music, and an abundance of kite flying. Thanks to Brother
Zack Molfegen from Fantis Imports, who provided beverages,
and Artion Bakery in Astoria, which contributed their delectable
Laganes.
District 10
Ann Arbor Chapter 195, Ann Arbor, Mich.
In March, the chapter hosted a
successful Comedy Night at the
" Original " Cottage Inn Restaurant
in Ann Arbor, with Brother Evan
Arhangelos making his debut on
stage. Thanks to Brother Jimmy
Michos for his assistance. The
chapter also held an initiation.
Elections were held in April.
