NEWS SBC chairman backs ICBA legislation Capital Summit 2023 It's time to prepare for the ICBA Capital Summit, where community bankers from across the country will gather at Capitol Hill to advocate for the industry. This is the first time the event will be held in person since the start of the pandemic. In addition to learning about various advocacy issues and how to build relationships with key legislators, attendees will have the opportunity to listen to multiple speakers. This year's Capital Summit speakers include: Senate Banking Committee chairman Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio) House Financial Services Committee chairman Patrick McHenry (R-N.C.) With multiple pieces of legislation on the docket and numerous new members of Congress, it's an important moment for community bankers to learn about current issues and how to best push ICBA's agenda forward. Sherrod Brown Advisory as a Service Your Regulatory Compliance & Internal Audit Partner Patrick McHenry Senate Banking Committee chairman Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio) recently endorsed authorizing the National Credit Union Administration at CUNA's Governmental Affairs Conference. This legislation would subject the National Credit Union Administration to the same supervisory power as bank regulators to monitor cyber risk at third-party vendors.
