A significant decade for the Twin
Cities golf club. In 1953, the club
planted more than 800 trees on the
course and, in a high point for the
members, the officers burned the mortgage
on the land for the golf course,
taking ownership outright. Four years
later, in 1958, the membership voted
to build a new clubhouse. During this
decade, Midland Hills member Bob
Morgan played a key role in saving the
MGA.
