Jack Fleck, a Davenport, Iowa, golf pro, won the 1952 and 1954
W.D. Sheldon Memorial Invitational at Rochester G&CC. Fleck,
who passed away last year, is best known for catching The Hawk,
Ben Hogan, at the 1955 U.S. Open at the Olympic Club in San
Francisco. Fleck beat Hogan by three shots in an 18-hole playoff.
