scorecard error. That is the only exception-in
any other case in which
a player returns a score for a hole
lower than actually taken, the penalty
will continue to be disqualifi cation.
Using an artifi cial device or equipment
(e.g., using a distance measuring
device in a tournament where no
local rule allows them) on the course
has always been frowned upon in
the Rules. But now the penalty for
it has been changed from DQ to
two strokes or loss of hole in match
play-on the fi rst use of the equipment.
But any subsequent breaches
of Rule 14-3 (Artifi cial Devices, Unusual
Equipment and Abnormal Use
of Equipment) still results in disqualifi
cation.

in the new Rules of Golf book for
2016 that relate to clarifi cation of
the Rules-and we have listed them

THE PROPOSAL: Each group will receive an online link to a proposal. This proposal
will include all the information your group needs to book, including tee times,
lodging accommodations, cost per person, information on the courses and facility,
and links for reservations and deposits. As the planner, you can simply forward
the proposal to all potential members and we will take it from there.
GROUP GOLF DEPOSITS: Don't get stuck paying deposits for
the entire group. After all, people may drop out at the
last minute. Our online group deposit feature allows
each golfer to make his/her own reservation.
