On the back nine you'll encounter the beguiling 12th, set among the abundant wetlands and meandering deer. But don't be distracted: the drive on this par 3 is known as " The Big Swing. " A creek bisects the approach, while two bunkers left and a huge yawing bunker front and right protect a large but shallow green. The prevailing wind is hurting and makes the tee shot particularly diffi cult, as the hole stretches to 200 yards from the tips and its location is cut back right. " Play it smart and go for the middle of the green, " teaching pro Sheryl Maize says. " Be careful of the wind. I play up half a club because No. 12 always seems to play a little longer. " -Joseph Oberle " It's a challenging hole. If you make birdie there you've really done a good job-and if you make par you feel good about it and are ready to move on.
