PGA Section Names
New CEO
Jeff " JD " Drimel, a former
president of the
Minnesota PGA Section,
was named the section's
new CEO, effective Jan. 21.
Drimel's duties include leading the staff,
building new business opportunities and
assisting the Minnesota sections' members
and facilities, which includes North
Dakota and parts of South Dakota, and
Western Wisconsin.
Drimel-a PGA member since 1987-
was most recently a PGA career consultant,
serving members and employers
nationwide. Prior to that, he served
a two-year term on the PGA Board of
Directors as the District 8 director, and he
spent 25 years as a head golf professional.
The majority of his career was spent serving
the membership of the Medina Golf
and Country Club in Medina, Minn. He
graduated from Ferris State University
in Big Rapids, Mich., and recently completed
certification in the PGA Certified
Professional Program. Drimel replaces
the outgoing CEO, Jeff Hintz, who joined
the section from the 2016 U.S. Ryder Cup
at Hazeltine National Golf Club.
LPGA's Kim Kaufman
to Appear at the
Minnesota Golf Show
Choice Bank announced
Jan. 10 that LPGA Tour
player Kim Kaufman will
appear at the Minnesota
Golf Show Saturday, Feb.
23. Kaufman, a four-time
state high school champion from Clark,
S.D., and a two-time All-American at
Texas Tech, has $1.5 million in career
earnings and a dozen top-10 finishes
on the women's tour. She finished the
2019 season ranked 118th on the official
money list. Kaufman will appear on
SKOR North and the $100,000 Pontoon
Putt. She is scheduled to give a junior
golf clinic at the MGA booth (#319) for
Minnesota Youth on Course.

Founded in 1900, the Trans-Mississippi
Golf Association is one of the oldest and

The First Tee
The First Tee was established to impact
the lives of young people around the world
by creating affordable and accessible
golf facilities to primarily serve those not
previously exposed to the game and its

Golf Alliance, EMGA
The purpose of the MPGA is to both promote
interest in the sport and to conserve the

Minnesota Minority Junior Golf
Association, MMJGA
The MMJGA sponsors a Caddie Program,
which gives young people a chance to
discover golf and earn income at the same
time. Teens in the program learn how to
