(tips from the pros ) Penny Wise Putting Try this " 2-coin " drill to hit solid putts more consistently. By Mike Barge, Hazeltine National GC Photos by Matt Seefeldt T he only way to become a consistent putter is to consistently hit solid putts. A miss-hit putt will more than likely roll off line and surely come up short. Solid putts have more energy, which keeps them on line and is a huge factor in distance control. The " 2-coin " drill helps you hit solid putts by insuring the putter head is bottoming out at the ball, not swinging up too much or down too much. Place a penny on top of a quarter, then try to putt the top coin off the bottom coin. If you can do this, your stroke is good enough to hit solid putts.
