(tips from the pros ) A NEW HOOK TO FIXING A SLICE By overcompensating for your swing fault, you can fi nd a cure. By Mike Barge, Hazeltine National Golf Club Photos by Matt Seefeldt or all of you who slice-and that's a majority of players-golf is a frustrating game. No doubt you have heard and read hundreds of cures, tips and quick fi xes throughout your golfi ng life. Slicing is usually a combination of things, but primarily it's an inability to get the clubface back to the ball squarely. Exaggeration can be the fi rst step to curing faults. By over-rotating the clubface through impact, you can produce the opposite ball fl ight of the slice. For right-handers, feel the right forearm crossing over the left forearm with the knuckles of the left hand facing the ground after impact. Turn your slice into a hook and eventually fi nd the happy medium.
