ind, water, length and forced carry all contribute to a
signifi cant challenge at Headwaters' No. 14. The recently
revamped hole requires a stout tee shot and steely reserve
on the approach-both into the prevailing wind.
The hole features water along the right side of the fairway,
and a decent hill and trees starting 100 yards out to the left.
The hazard turns in front of the large, back-to-front sloped
green at about 10 yards out, with only a sliver of apron when
approaching on the left. According to pro Jeff Anderson,
seniors playing from the front tees often lay up left of the water.
" The blue tee is even worse, " he says. " It's a bear from back
there. It's tough. You have to hit a drive awfully darn good to get it
to a spot where you have less water to deal with. " -Joseph Oberle
