Evans Par Club members, Feb. 16 at the
Minikahda Club in Minneapolis for selection
as the new 2017 class of the Evans
Scholars. Awarded by the WGA, the Evans
Scholarship Program provides college
tuition and housing to deserving young

men and women based on their caddying,
academic excellence, financial need and
character. The MGA supports the Evans
program at the University of Minnesota,
and it was only fitting that the interviews
took place at Minikahda, site of Chick Evans'
1916 U.S. Open victory.

try, including the University of Minnesota,
home to one of 15 campus scholarship
houses. There are 10,412 Evans Scholar
alums residing in every U.S. state and 22
countries worldwide. What's more telling,
alumni donated $10 million back to the
Evans foundation in 2016, and $114 million
over the lifetime of the 86-year-old
program.

from 10 a.m. to noon on FM 100.3. The program
runs April 29 through July and features
notable players and champions on the local
amateur golf scene.
From the 2017 Directory issue: The 2016 Como Golf Course women's club champion
is Chris Langer, and the 2016 club champions for Faribault Golf Club are Jordan
Dickey (men's), Jon Dickey (senior men's), Nancy Barr (women's) and Christian
Peterson (boys'). Phil Anderson is the general manager at North Oaks Golf
Club, Kent Blaschko is the golf professional at the Ridges of Sand Creek, Brendan
Cody is the golf professional at Southview Country Club, Andy Gerber is the golf
professional at Oak Glen Golf Club, Aaron Johnson is the manager at Golden Eagle
Golf Club, A.J. Krogh is the superintendent at Faribault Golf Club, Joel Livingood
is the general manager at Interlachen Country Club, Brian Walker is the general
manager at Stillwater Oaks Golf Course and Jill Wright is the clubhouse manager at
Wheaton Country Club.
