Make More Pressure Putts
A few quick reminders can help you sink
those crucial putts at the end of your round.

t's the last hole of the round, with everything riding on this putt. Why
do some people make these pressure putts while others never see
them drop? Next time you are faced with this situation, remember these
thoughts to help you make the crucial putt.
1 Slow down
your breathing
and take as
much tension
out of your
body as possible.
2 Visualize
yourself making
it before
you putt. Seeing
it go in is a
must.
3 Develop a
routine and
stick with it in
every situation.
4 The less
mechanical
the better. See
the line, feel
the speed and
roll it.
The more pressure putts you make, the more your confi dence grows for
the next time you are faced with a must-make putting situation.

Course is carved into the
beautiful landscape of Minnesota
lake country, but those
placid, peaceful waters can be
treacherous for your round-
particularly on No. 4.
Driving through a narrow

chute of trees off the tee, precise
shot-making is required
throughout this well-designed
hole. The tree-lined fairway is
sparse enough to play out of,
but the real danger is found
in the narrowing landing area,
where ponds encroach on
both sides-about 210 yards
out on the right and 235 yards
on the left.
The bold golfer will try to
split the ponds for a shorter,
safer wedge shot in, but even
a small lake breeze can blow a
decent drive offl ine.
A tee ball of 200 yards
down the middle leaves 155
yards to a well-protected
and shallow, peanut-shaped
green-and assures you won't
get thumped by either pond.
