Minnesota Caddies Earn Evans Scholarships
" These deserving Evans Scholars conTen
Minnesota caddies were awarded
the Chick Evans Scholarship, a full housing
and tuition college grant (valued at
$120,000 over four years) offered to golf
caddies, following a final selection interview
Feb. 4 at The Minikahda Club. Each
of the caddies has a unique story reflecting
the scholarship's four selection criteria:
an outstanding caddie record, excellence
in academics, financial need and a
sterling character. The ten caddies will
begin college in the fall at the University
of Minnesota in Minneapolis.

through church, charities and community

Golf Director and Evans alumnus.
" There is no question in my mind that
the Evans Scholarship will change the
lives of these deserving men and women
who represent our future. "
Currently, a record 1,010 caddies are
enrolled in 18 universities across the
nation as Evans Scholars, including at
the University of Minnesota, home to
one of 15 campus scholar houses. More
than 11,050 caddies have
graduated
as Evans Scholars since the program
was founded by famed Chicago amateur
golfer Charles " Chick " Evans Jr.
after his 1916 U.S. Open victory at The
Minikahda Club in Minneapolis, Minn.
The Evans Scholars Foundation, which
supports the Chick Evans Scholarship
Program, is administered by the WGA.

As part of its 50-year celebration, Bloomington's Dwan Golf Club has rebranded its course logo and changed its name to Dwan Golf
Course. Rochester's Willow Creek Golf Course, a privately owned public 18-hole facility, is reopening under new ownership. The men's
and women's 2019 club champions at Wayzata's Spring Hill Golf Club are Jay Cavanagh and Dawn Kurr, respectively. The Emerald
Greens men's and senior men's club champions are Gary Plante and Al Stangl, respectively.
