* BY MIKE BARGE * TIPS FROM THE PROS Less Can Be More Play your next round with just seven clubs in your bag to experience how it can strengthen your game. O ne of the highlights of my summer is playing in the 7 Club fundraiser. This year's event will be played July 25 at The Minikahda Club and benefi ts the Evans Scholar Foundation. All players are limited to seven clubs, since that is the number Chick Evans used in winning the 1916 U.S. Open at Minikahda. You would think playing with less than your full complement of clubs would be a huge disadvantage, but you could surprise yourself. It's great practice in course management and for creating shots you wouldn't typically play. You must use more imagination and feel without your normal 14 clubs. Plus, if you carry, walking with just seven clubs on your back will feel like nothing. I highly recommend playing casual rounds minus your full set for these reasons.
