t Indian Hills' No. 5, it may seem like you're taking
on a lot of water and need to bail, but there is no
alternative, other than a well-executed shot. With
water on both sides of the fairway, starting at the landing
area and running up to more water bisecting the hole about
40 yards out, accuracy and distance control are paramount.
" It's a tight driving hole, " says head pro Tom Nelson. " A lot
of people choose to play an iron off the tee. Just try to get it
down by the 150-yard mark and keep it safe in the middle. "
After negotiating the small creek from the fairway, the
green offers little relief, with a subtle ridge running vertically,
kicking putts right or left. " If you get by No. 5 with a par, you
are feeling good, " Nelson says. -Joseph Oberle
