the green, and his bid to tie Rosburg came
up two feet short.

the only player to break par for 18 holes,
but it was Mann who charged into a tie
with Spuzich on the back nine of the fi nal

birdie at the short, tight par-4 14th hole
and then hit the shot of the tournament
when she almost holed her tee shot on the
16th-a hole so tightly guarded by a tree
that some called it the world's only dogleg
par 3. Spuzich followed that deuce with a
birdie on 17 to put the tournament away.
