" I've played in the U.S. Open, and it is one of the hardest tournaments I will ever play in.
When I am in college, and getting to tough holes, just knowing that I have played tougher
holes before has helped my mental game a lot. The tough holes in college don't bother me
as much as before, because I've played in a lot tougher conditions. "
What do you carry for
good luck?
" I have a ball marker that
is a bejeweled, sparkly 'S.' I
have played with it since my
freshman year in high school. I don't think
I've played a tournament without it. I feel like
it would be out of my routine [if I did]. It's a
little superstitious, but I like to keep things
consistent. The 'S' stands for Sarah. But when
I picked my college, people would ask me, 'Oh
is that for Spartans?' " I'd say, 'No, it's actually
for Sarah,' but it kind of works for both now.' "

On Playing in the U.S. Open
" Playing in the U.S. Open and my dad being
my caddie-that was pretty cool. I also played
a practice round with defending champion
Michelle Wie. There were a lot of people
[following us]. It was a little nerve-racking
at fi rst, but it was really cool because I got
to play with one of the best players in the
world. Every hole I had to sign autographs-
the little kids don't care who they get, they
just want everyone in the group to sign their
fl ag. That was cool; I felt like a pro there. "
