Erik Van Rooyen
A native of South Africa, Van Rooyen
was a year behind Constable at Minnesota
and succeeded Constable as State
Amateur champion, winning at Hastings
in 2012. He then turned pro in the
spring of 2013.
Since then, he's played mostly on the
Sunshine Tour in South Africa. But he
came back to Minnesota last year and
won the Tapemark Charity Pro-Am,
his fi rst victory as a professional. He
won again this winter, on the Sunshine
Tour, and this fall he will try once more
to qualify for full status on the European
Tour.
Ben Polland
A late bloomer, Polland went to
Bloomington Jefferson High School
and tied for eighth at the state tournament
as a senior in 2008. He chose
Campbell University, which has a program
for prospective PGA club pros,
and his game improved dramatically
in his four years there.
After graduating, he got a job as an
assistant in New York, and since then
has established himself as one of the
best players among all the club pros in
the country. Polland fi nished second in
the 2015 National Club Pro Championship
and won the 2016 National Assistant
Club Pro title.
He made it further than any other
Minnesotan-or former Minnesotan-in
the Web.com Q-School last
fall, but fi nished tied for 72nd in the
Final Stage. As a result, he has partial
status on the Web.com this year. (The
top 45 fi nishers get full status.)

Clayton Rask
Another former Gopher, Rask has won
the Minnesota Golf Champions title
fi ve times, the State Open once and has
been fairly successful in the various QSchools,
earning full status on the old
