Analog vs. digital

process and that what you're putting
on the tape is cold, and you were
relying on the analog piece of tape
to sort of smear what you were doing.

was recorded live and went right to mono or two-track-there
was no fixing anything later. Now, you record in Pro Tools, you have
as many tracks as you need, and you can always adjust something
later. Back then, little mistakes would stay on the record. If the take felt
good, and the overall performance was great, you didn't mind a little

lecture, because I wasn't scolding anybody,
I was just saying, like a prophet,
that tomorrow that's where we should
