Big Updates from Arturia
First up is Pigments 3.5. The free update introduces
intricate new colors, textures, and engines to the company's
state-of-the-art software instrument.
Pigments 3.5 now includes CrossMod (cross-modulation
between Engines 1 and 2), a new distortion module
combining 16 modes of distortion with built-in filtering,
Expanded Comb Filter with three new damped modes:
LP6, BP6, and HP6, new Wavetables, an enhanced
Sample Engine Browser, a streamlined GUI, 150+ new
factory presets, and Apple M1 compatibility.
Next is the new V2.0 Soundshaper update for the
PolyBrute analog synthesizer. This major firmware update vastly expands this flagship synth's powerful morphing abilities,
introducing several enhancements, inspiring new presets, radical features, and it's free for all PolyBrute owners. New features
include effects, adjustable humanization controls, chord mode, duophonic aftertouch, LFO 3 curve enhancements, realtime
display feedback, and 64 new presets designed by world-class sound designers.

TASCAM 424 Studio Master Cassette
Cassettes are having a popular resurgence, and TASCAM has answered the call with limited edition cassettes developed and
optimized for use in vintage TASCAM PortaStudios.
The 424 Studio Master C-60 High Bias Type II Cassette was
developed for the 50th anniversary of TASCAM as a tribute to its rich
heritage. It was developed in close coordination with National Audio
Company, Inc. of Springfield, MO, the world's largest manufacturer
of quality cassette tape and the world's largest duplicator of recorded
music cassettes. The TASCAM 424 cassette employs a hand-assembled
shell manufactured using traditional injection molding and 3-D printing
to re-create the original TEAC shell with miniature gold reels from the
early 1980s-a modern collector's item. A TASCAM 424 Portastudio
was refurbished to like-new condition for beta testing during the tape
formulation process to ensure the utmost authenticity.
