Website Updated to
Improve User Experience
NABP recently updated the Members section of
the Association's website to provide easier access to
information about the benefits of the Association's
programs and services. The relaunched Members
section is now organized into three topic areas:
Programs and Services
Information on how NABP helps
its member boards through services
and programs such as seamless data
exchange and NABP Verify.
Board Resources
Links to NABP's publications,
tools, and other resources that
help boards stay informed
and connected.
Get Involved
Provides information on initiatives,
meetings, and other activities,
including ways members can
participate and volunteer.
NABP periodically updates its website and
other communication methods to ensure that member
boards of pharmacy can easily access the information
they need. Visit the relaunched Members section at

Communication and Training Resources
Help Board Members Acclimate to Their Roles
In addition to these programs, MRGA continues to place an
emphasis on providing training and educational resources to the
boards. Communication and training resources include the Board
of Pharmacy Member Manual, a guide for board of pharmacy
members that includes information about NABP's structure,
services, and programs, as well as information for new board
members on topics ranging from conflict of interest to adjudication
procedures to typical board meeting agendas. Another resource
is the Model State Pharmacy Act and Model Rules of the National
Association of Boards of Pharmacy, which provides model language
that may be used when developing state laws or board rules.
Upon request, NABP can also provide customized orientation
and training for both board members and staff to refresh them on
board responsibilities, current issues, e-Profile Connect instructions,
and other information to help get new members up to speed. A
similar one-on-one service is also available to executive directors.
Another service available to the boards is the State Newsletter
Program, which assists boards in producing and distributing a
quarterly newsletter for their licensees. Participating boards provide
their newsletter content to NABP, and NABP Communications
staff members produce the newsletters using templated, statespecific
layouts that are distributed to pharmacists, pharmacy
technicians, and other licensees as designated by each board. These
newsletters are an easy way for boards to promote compliance
among licensees by notifying them of the latest news in their state,
ranging from pharmacy practice requirements to emergency orders
to continuing education updates. Both the pdf posted online
and the email version were recently updated to a more readerfriendly
format, whether viewing in their email inbox or online.
Finally, as this year's legislative season moves into high gear,
member boards should also keep in mind that NABP is continually
monitoring legislative and regulatory trends to ensure that the
boards of pharmacy are informed and to encourage legislators to
consult with the boards of pharmacy when making relevant policy
decisions. MRGA staff also helps to provide tools for implementing
national policy changes at a state level. Relevant legislative and
regulatory changes are shared with the boards through a variety
of NABP's communication vehicles, including this magazine.
The Association's MRGA department will continue to
support the boards in their mission to protect public health and
to monitor the pharmacy regulatory landscape as it continues
to evolve and change. Boards of pharmacy that wish to learn
