is always great for business, but Garrett
says he's a fan of tours in general, just to
keep standards high. " We have found this
very successful in different ways. We have
hired quite a few students for summer
work that have led to full-time staff. We
also find tours in general to be good for
our representation and relationship with
the community. When you give lots of
tours, you see things differently in your
business that can help you improve and
become a better company. You also
keep your facility cleaner, and your staff
becomes more efficient. "
Garrett says they've hosted many
students over the years from welding
classes to even math classes. " It was
really interesting with the math instructor,
because they wanted to show how
math and numbers are used in our
day-to-day operations. So, we started the
tour at the time clock and then moved
through the different departments
showing accordingly. "
Ultimately, educators believe having
companies partner with local schools
is a win-win. " Many of the businesses I
