leAdershIP develoPment AccG Heads to Jekyll Island for Legislative Leadership Conference By Beth Brown, ACG Strategy and Innovation Director DRIVING ACROSS THE causeway from Georgia's mainland to one of its coastal treasures looks much the same as it has for decades. Peaceful marshlands wrap visitors on both sides of the roadway as sea oats gently wave their greetings and billowing white clouds float by overhead. While this comforting picture of Jekyll Island may spark a flooding back of memories from old family vacations, 4-H expeditions - and maybe even a past ACCG annual conference - one will most certainly notice much has changed on the island in recent years. ACCG invites county officials to experience all that Jekyll Island has to offer during the Legislative Leadership Conference scheduled for October 7 - 9, 2015, at the Jekyll Island Convention Center. While ACCG has used this facility for Board meetings since it opened in 2010, this is the first major conference of county officials to return to Jekyll Island since 2003. The Jekyll Island Convention Center covers 128,000-square feet and is the only oceanfront FALL 2015 67
