INSIDE ASID/ ASID Foundation Update FOUNDATION JOINS THE NATIONAL BUILDING MUSEUM’S BOARD OF TRUSTEES/ GIVING INTERIOR DESIGN a much deserved voice in the built environment community, the ASID Foundation is honored to join the National Building Museum’s Board of Trustees. Represented by ASID EVP/CEO Randy Fiser, the Foundation joined the board in April and will be providing input and direction to the museum’s programming and strategic planning, creating programs for professionals and the public that demonstrate the value and impact of interior design. The leading institute dedicated to the history and impact of the built environment, Washington, D.C.’s National Building Museum strives to provide quality education about the impact that buildings have on people’s lives. The museum’s programming focuses on telling the stories of architecture, engineering and design through lectures, interactive exhibitions and educational programming. Each year the museum attracts 525,000 visitors, and provides online education to 743,000 unique viewers. As part of this industry partnership, one exhibit the ASID Foundation will have the opportunity to participate in developing programming and special exhibits for is House & Home, a collection of images, objects, models and films that tours visitors through an array of houses, both past and present, while asking what “home” really means. By joining the museum’s board, the Foundation will also be working collaboratively with prestigious leaders of design firms, associations and foundations in the built environment and other areas of the industry with whom we hope to build deeper relationships. Beginning in May, the National Building Museum is hosting its popular indoor mini golf exhibition, with the theme “Building the Future.” ASID is excited to partner with Industry Partner Teknion and Kia Weatherspoon, Allied ASID, to design one of the course’s holes exploring the evolution of the workplace. Visitors will be able to play this unique course through Sept. 2, 2013. If you are in Washington, D.C., this summer be sure to visit the museum to attend a lecture, tour the exhibit and play a round of mini golf.  For more information about the ASID Foundation’s partnership with the National Building Museum, visit or GO PRO GO PRO with ASID this Year EP PROGRAM GOES COAST-TO-COAST/ THE ACCLAIMED GO PRO symposium for emerging profession- als has gained momentum after selling out its first two years in New York City, and is expanding to Los Angeles this June.
