for organizations. Auditors from North America,
however, have a less favorable view of the changes
introduced by ISO 9001:2015 than auditors from
the rest of the world, which reflects the feedback
recorded during the ISO 9001:2015 revision process.
There is an overall agreement about the effectiveness of ISO 9001:2015 as a tool for management
systems integration and the successful implementation of improvement by auditee organizations.
Nevertheless, North American auditors have a less
positive view of the clarity of the requirements and
successfully understanding the organization and its
context.
Everyone who responded to the survey
acknowledged that the 2015 revisions will be more
challenging to audit than the previous version.
ISO 9001:2015 allows organizations to be flexible
when designing and implementing their QMSs
to add value and match their stakeholder needs,
while demonstrating their capability to achieve the
intended results.
There is no one-size-fits-all QMS. Auditors must
properly prepare for audits by studying in advance
the specific auditee organization and its QMS. An
auditor must understand:
+ The organization's mission and strategic intent.
