Habitat - March/April 2016 - (Page 9)
Arrived at AAA
don't know about you, but I am glad to see winter moving behind us and
look forward to welcoming spring with open arms! And as usual, we have
a lot going on in the coming months, and I hope that you will be joining
me at all of the events!
Our membership drive is well underway. If you missed the kickoff party in
January, you missed a great time! The energy, commitment and dedication of our
volunteers and staff is simply amazing. Their current recruitment and renewal
statistics will surely have them surpassing their goals for 2016. This committee is
so fundamentally important to the annual success of the association, and we could
not do what we do without the wonderful support from our owner/managers and
associate members. Thanks for all that you do!
March is a very busy month for the association. As I am writing this, we are
preparing to head to the Capitol Conference in D.C. Many of your AAA staff and
board members will be meeting with our state legislators to ensure industry issues
are at the forefront. We look forward to spending time with those who can make a
difference in our everyday work lives. And following on the heels of that, is the ever
popular Maintenance Mania on March 10. As you know, this event is sold out so I hope
all of your participants registered early and your support teams signed up to cheer
on our competitors. And last but certainly not least, the March dinner meeting will
be held on March 24. Our speaker for this program is one you won't want to miss -
Alex Sheen, founder of because I said I would. We can all use information on the
importance of keeping a promise. Alex donates all of his speaking fees to his 501c3
nonprofit organization. Be sure to sign up for this enlightening and worthy topic.
In April, we hope to see all of you at the Vic Maslia Golf Classic. This is our
annual fundraiser for our PAC, the Georgia Better Government Fund. Our
governmental affairs team works diligently to encourage positive legislation for
our businesses. This is so very important to our industry and made possible by the
generous sponsors and participants of this event. So please come out and join us
for a fun-filled day of golf (and no, you don't have to be good) and support our PAC.
We are hoping for spectacular weather!
And last but certainly not least,
with more to come on this in the
next edition, I want to make sure you
have marked your calendars for the
AAA Trade Show on May 18. We are
already well ahead of last year's sales
and look to have another sold-out,
record-breaking event. Our trade
show is the largest multifamily trade
show in the South so come on out and
take it all in.
So as you can see, the spring is
jam-packed with tons of networking
opportunities. I look forward to
seeing everyone over the next few
months at these exciting events.
