BUILDING SUPPLY INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION - Fall 2020 - 12

GIVING BACK

POWER TO THE PEOPLE:

BSIA OF BC HOSTS FIRST VIRTUAL ORION
AWARDS, DONATES $7,500 IN MEALS TO BC
HEALTH CARE WORKERS

H

ow do you recognize
the best of the best
in your industry when
you can't create a gala, host
an awards banquet, shake
hands or even give someone
a well-deserved pat on the
back? How do you give back
to the BC community during
a pandemic? The Building
Supply Industry Association
of BC has accomplished both.
The first ever virtual Orion
Awards Ceremony hosted by
BSIABC Chairman, Ron Tu
of Cedarline Industries Ltd.,
created the foundation for
those winners as bright stars
of our essential services
industry to participate in
Power to the People and
donate meals to BC health
care workers.
Thomas Foreman, BSIABC
President said, "We wanted to
create an online experience that
was professional and allowed the
winners to be recognized by their
peers, customers and we also took
into account the highest scores of
our BC Mystery Shopper program."
