BSIA's 80th Anniversary Celebration "From Good to Great"

bout a year ago, we had an
idea to celebrate the BSIA's
80th Anniversary. With the
help of the chair, Scott Emo and
his committee of Matt Humphrey,
Wayne Ruffle, Kevin Staller, Joe Zucchi
the idea of having the celebration at
Harrison Hot Springs came about. The
decision was made to start with table
top displays in the afternoon, with a
supper, including Guest Speak Peter
Legge, and awards night to follow.
All through the afternoon and evening
Andrew Johns,,
was playing fabulous music appropriate
to the moment.
In the morning there would be
a continental breakfast before
those who wanted, went golfing or
sturgeon fishing.
There were 20 table top displays
from our member suppliers and many
guests mingling throughout the
afternoon, enjoying appetizers and

beverages. Peter Legge had a table
in the room and was autographing his
new book, sponsored by Metrie.
That led in to Supper where,
Erik Ostensen was our MC for the
evening. He introduced Scott Emo
our committee chair, who introduced
our speaker Peter Legge. Peter Legge
has embodied the gutsy spirit
of the entrepreneur. A savvy
businessman with an uncanny
ability to identify opportunities,
Peter successfully developed
what began as a small-circulation
television listings magazine called
TV Week into the foundation of
a top Canadian enterprise. For

more information on Peter go to Peter
spoke to the audience about not just
being good, but being great, be the
best you can be. His words resonated
loud and clear.
After the guest speaker, a
delicious BBQ supper was served.
Once everyone was settled back
down in their seats, the Orion
