High, Kennedy High, and Sierra College have advanced their programs by
using the template that Titan created.
The Academy shines the spotlight on manufacturing. Technology
has changed so rapidly that it's almost
impossible to comprehend and teach
unless you're on the floor and using it
every day, like the experts at TITANS
of CNC.
Titan wants all workers to
succeed but he also wants California
companies to be able compete in a
global market. He knows first hand the
difficulties they all face. Titan says, "If

estern Saw is a worldclass manufacturing and
CNC machining company
with a team of highly skilled professionals. With an 85-year history
they have become a leading manufacturer of precision laser cut saw
bodies and diamond cores for a full
range of industrial and consumer
applications.
Employing more than 50
highly skilled workers in Oxnard and
constantly growing as a company,
Western Saw invested substantially
in California the last three years with
more than $5 million to purchase new
equipment that will allow the company to hire more workers and grow.
The company has long averaged
at least $800,000 per year on new
machinery. This constant but difficult
investment shows the company's
commitment to California but they
don't shy away from indicating the
difficulties of remaining profitable in
the state.
"There are challenges to manufacturing in California," says owner
Kevin Baron. "Those challenges
include strict regulations and per-

environmental regulations, and a lack
of skilled labor. While Titan devotes
most of his time running his company
ensuring the most cost-competitive
precision parts for aerospace and the
medical industry, he has found a way
to leverage his company's challenges
and his deep passion for business
and machining into a benefit for all of
California. Titan and his company deserve to be recognized as a California

mitting from all government agencies,

an untrained workforce, and high cost

also says there are advantages to
operating in California too. Among
those reasons, a very committed local
workforce, no heating or air-conditioning bills for the factory and, Baron says
only half jokingly, "no snow days!"
Many Western Saw employees,
like 37-year veteran Raul Cervantes,
have been there for more than 3 decades because it's a good paying job
and the company never stops investing
in their workers by training them on
new equipment and processes.
