will need to train and recruit employee's that can work
with this data and help integrate the customer data into our
business system.
The revenue stream portion of this business trend can be
measured in different ways. There is the obvious margin on the
sale of the data collection devices. I believe the true revenue
will come from using the analytics to solve problems of the
customer and provide additional value. This data can help the
dealership in the ongoing effort of being a solutions provider
to the customer. The revenue will follow when the dealership
is better able to identify and solve the customer's problems.

Buying trends for new market companies and continued
e-commerce shift.
How are you preparing to handle that challenge or
opportunity?
We are creating a digital face of our company to allow
companies the ability to learn about equipment and project
scope. We are also creating tools for e-commerce supply
chain solutions.

in 2018?
There are two themes that stand out to
me - Digital and People. For Gregory Poole as a company, we
consider both of these topics important critical success factors
for the near future with an emphasis on People being the
most important. If you look at 2018 trends number 5 (changing buying patterns), 6 (attract top talent), 7 (changes in
technology) and 10 (adapt communication strategy) you will
see that each trend's core component for success is People.
How are you preparing to handle that challenge or
opportunity?
People have always been the most important asset of a
distributorship. As the rate of change in business speeds up,
you must keep up with the times to be able to attract and
retain good people. The right people that are highly engaged,

well trained and properly rewarded will be able to execute
a great digital strategy alone with great customer retention
at a profit. A great digital strategy without highly-engaged,
trained people is merely a strategy.
Multi-generational buyers are driving innovative ways to
market - that is a fact that we must realize and react to in
order to ensure long term success in our business. We must
be willing to embrace the priorities of younger generations
coming into the workplace. We must understand that our
customer's digital experience outside of work (online purchases, internet research, etc.) will affect their expectations
for doing business at work. The Digital Experience and People
could be considered one in the same. When you speak about
a Digital Experience, who is it for? The People of course! Both
internally and externally.
People are the bridge between using technology to purchase
and using technology to sell. There is a common ground
between the two. You must be able to hire and retain employees who are capable of utilizing the technology now and in
the future in effective ways as the landscape changes. The
methods we see and use today will be outdated and soon it
will be People who will need to recognize these "winds of
change" and adapt yet again.

in 2018?
End users continue to seek and
implement automated solutions driven by skilled labor shortages, minimum wage increases and a desire to reduce fleet
size. Members must evaluate and understand the risks and
opportunities that exist to participate in automation solutions.
At RMH Systems, we believe that MHBT #2 will impact
us the most in 2018 as long as the economy stays strong
and consumer confidence level is high. The need for our
customers to implement automated solutions within their
business is high and is driven by the shortage/cost of labor.
The automation projects we completed in 2017 were larger
and more complicated than in previous years. We believe
that this trend will continue into 2018.
How are you preparing to handle that challenge or
opportunity?
At RMH Systems, we are increasing our engineering resources to accommodate the increase in automated
systems work. In addition, we have promoted one of our
engineers to Systems Manager. Systems Manager is a new
