mhEDa inDUsTRy nEWs miLESTONES MHEDA Member Releases Childrens Book About Forklifts MHEDA member Frank clark from The Lilly company has published a series of children's books revolving around a character that he invented, Frankie Forklift. Says clark, "This is a series of books that will use the material handling industry as its inspiration for story lines and characters. Each book will tell a story about Frankie's adventures in a warehouse and will introduce additional characters along the way. All the characters come from my 25 years experience in the Forklift truck/material handling industry."  For more information, visit uniCarriers Americas Announces STAR Award Winner Unicarriers Americas corporation (UcA) announced this year's Employees of the Year and its STAR Award winner. UcA's STAR Award is given to an employee who promotes change and is responsible for the most significant cost savings over the fiscal year. This year's STAR Award winner was welder, Joe Engelhardt. Engelhardt was selected due to identifying product and process improvements that resulted in significant cost savings. By making a change in the wiring choice for an instrument panel robot, Engelhardt saved the company $1,500 without sacrificing weld integrity. MHEDA Members Aid Flint MHEDA members Quantum Lift and Fairchild Equipment donated equipment to the American Logistics Aid Network (ALAN) to aid in moving water deliveries at local fire stations in Flint, Michigan. Quantum Lift donated four Unicarriers HPT2748PH 5500 capacity manual pallet jacks. Fairchild Equipment also donated a pallet jack. Both company's contributions were instrumental in getting Flint residents clean water while it is unsafe to drink the local tap water. Clark Announces Key Organizational updates to Management Team Bo Maslanyk has been appointed Vice President, Strategic Programs and Major Accounts. In his new role, Bo will focus on sales growth with clark's strategic partners as well as national and major accounts. Rick Dahlke has been promoted to Senior Regional Sales Manager. In his new role, Rick will continue to support dealers in his territories and will act as an ombudsman for the regional sales team, providing input from the field for strategic planning and other corporate initiatives. Partnerships, Acquisitions and Expansions * NACCO Materials Handling Group (NMHG) announced that Gregory Poole Equipment company has been appointed as an authorized dealer of Hyster lift trucks in most of Virginia and in portions of North carolina, South carolina and West Virginia, and as an authorized dealer of Yale lift trucks in portions of North carolina, South carolina and Virginia. * Intelligrated opened a district office in Ontario, california, as part of its Western regional sales and operations. The Intelligrated Ontario district office is located at 3363 Inland Empire Blvd., Suite 600 Quantum Lift Aids Flint * Papé Material Handling, a division of The Papé Group has expanded its territory coverage with the acquisition of Johnson Lift, a division of Johnson Machinery co. As a result, Papé Material Handling is now the authorized and exclusive Hyster dealer in those territories previously covered by Johnson Lift. * Wolter Group LLC announced the acquisition of Servicemax Inc. Servicemax will join forces with Illinois Material Handling.  * Alba Manufacturing announced a new expansion expected to be complete by March 2016. The new expansion will include a variety of enhancements to support Alba's continuing growth and expansion * W&H Systems has been acquired by by Dearborn Mid-West Company. W&H will be integrated into Dearborn Mid-West's Material Handling Systems Division and will collectively be rebranded DMW&H.  * Dematic announced an agreement to acquire Reddwerks corporation, a leading innovator of Warehouse Execution Software (WES) that provides customers with real-time decision engines to optimize material and information flow in the supply chain.  * Hyster-Yale Group has entered into a preferred vendor cooperation agreement with robotics specialist Balyo Inc. to market selfguided trucks in North America.
