mEmbEr ALL LIF T sERVICE prOFILE Traditional Values, Modern Management All Lift Service blends old school and new school to achieve success BY STEVE GUGLIELMO L ike many MHEDA members, All Lift Service Co. (Willoughby, OH) comes from humble beginnings. The company was started in 1972 by John P. Gelsimino. The word "company" is used loosely, as Gelsimino was an independent service technician. The literal embodiment of "one man in a van." As such, the success of All Lift, since day one, has depended on outworking the competition to take care of its customers, having top of the line service, and taking care of employees. Today, the company has grown and flourished into a full-service dealership with sales, service, parts, rentals, leasing, operator training, racking and shelving. In addition to all of those services, the company has an engine remanufacturing business that specializes in the remanufacturing of all makes and models of industrial engines. John L. Gelsimino, John P. Gelsimino's son, has worked in the industry his whole life and took over as President of All Lift in August 2011. John P. has been semi-retired for about one year, but his core tenets and strong culture still remain. a Vibrant culture One of the major drivers of All Lift Service's success is its rich, vibrant culture. What makes All Lift such an interesting dichotomy is the way that it deftly blends "old school" with "new school" elements. At just 36, John L. Gelsimino is easily one of the youngest presidents in all of MHEDA.
