INDuSTry MVp rECOgNITION MHEDA's MVP Program Turns Five How the Most Valuable Partner Program has impacted recipients BY STEVE GUGLIELMO F ive years ago, MHEDA announced an ambitious awards program called the "Most Valuable Partner" or MVP Program designed to recognize the top-performing distributors in the association. The goal of the program was for MHEDA distributors to be able to demonstrate to their partners, customers, employees and suppliers that they truly were among the best distributors in the material handling industry. Because the program sought to highlight the true "cream of the crop" among MHEDA, criteria for the award was and continues to be stringent. Distributors interested in receiving the award have to satisfy criteria in the following areas: * Industry Relations * Customer Relations * Peer-to-Peer Networking * Education * Best Practices In addition to those requirements, members must have a minimum of three employees enrolled in MHEDA communications and must provide a letter of recommendation from both a customer and a MHEDA Supplier. The vision statement for the program states that, "The vision of the Most Valuable Partner designation is to recognize those distributors who have achieved, through documented processes, performance excellence in customer service, supplier relationships, employee training and community involvement.
