What's the Capacity?
Know before you load
Your rack is designed to support a specific load in a
specific configuration. If you don't see its capacities
posted on your rack, find the manufacturer specs.
Okay - you've found the specs,
but do you understand them?
Before you load, you must understand how
capacities are calculated and applied. It's not cut
and dried, so be thorough.
Beams are rated by the pair, and for evenly distributed
loads. If the load requires support (like decks), this can
reduce the listed capacity.
