That doesn't skip a beat!
Trees are planted, harvested,
And land is replanted after that.
We will cover the entire process,
Today in our little chat!"
Florida Agriculture Literacy Day can happen in any Florida
classroom on any day of the school year!
Teachers are encouraged to invite professionals from the
agriculture industry into their classroom to share their stories and enhance the overall experience. The book is free
and will be available the entire school year for teachers and
volunteers to order. Companion resources and a downloadable version of the book are also available online. For more

Educating youth about agriculture and where food comes
from is an important goal of Florida Agriculture in the Classroom.
In addition to Florida Agriculture Literacy Day, FAITC provides
curricula, materials, workshops, grant money and other programs to teachers and agriculture industry volunteers who reach
out to Florida students in Pre-K through 12th grade.
Also being introduced for the 2019-2020 school year is
Florida Agriculture in the Classroom's new video series. The
organization has been working to create videos that are 10-12
minutes in length and highlight various agriculture industries
across the state. The videos will be paired with curriculum
and content that is connected to state education standards.
The industries that are represented in this series of videos
are forestry, citrus, strawberries, cotton, peanuts, dairy, beef,
clams, sweet corn, ornamental and horticulture. Creating educational videos will allow teachers to show real-world examples of agriculture without leaving the classroom.
Florida Agriculture in the Classroom is able to offer their
educational resources free because of the funding it receives
from sales of the agriculture specialty license plate also
known as the Ag Tag.
FAITC receives $20
from every Ag Tag that
is purchased. For more
