Chair's PERSPECTIVE A Prosperous New Year to All A Noel D. Hardy FPMA Chair From left to right: Joe Capitano Sr., CEO of Radiant Group, FPMA Past President, FPMA Hall of Fame; Sen. Denise Grimsley, FPMA Past President, FPMA Hall of Fame Inductee and Rick McAllister, President & CEO of the Florida Retail Federation, Past Executive Director FPMA. s 2014 came to a close, the staff at Florida Petroleum Marketers & Convenience Store Association and Florida Retail Federation worked to complete the unity of our fine associations. Documents and papers were submitted in time to start a new, fresh calendar year and budgets were revised to include dual and separate meeting places and dates. More importantly, Florida Petroleum Marketers were added to Florida Retail Federation's Board of Directors. Joining Summit Shah and myself are: Charlie Roberts of ELI Roberts and Sons; our Chair Elect, Craig Lynch of Lynch Oil Co.; our Treasurer, Stoney Smith of United Fuel and Supply; our Convenience Store Committee Chair and Membership Committee Chair Wenda Lewis of Lewis Oil Company. Ned Bowman and Rick McAllister, along with both staffs, have worked tirelessly to smooth out our road to success. They deserve a hearty congratulations and thank you. At our FPMA's Legislative Days Awards Dinner, which took place Feb. 4 at the Doubletree Hotel in downtown Tallahassee, Sen. Denise Grimsley was inducted into the FPMA 2015 Hall of Fame. Past President and Hall of Famer Joe Capitano Sr. introduced Sen. Grimsley with a moving and amusing "This is Your Life" type presentation. Denise's childhood in rural America has served her well. Hall of Fame member Don Bodie had the privilege to present the Hall of Fame plaque to our senator. Her proud mother and father were both in attendance. Charles Grimsley raised Denise from the ground up into the petroleum business. Due to illness, Denise took over the family business for a period of time setting aside her career in the healthcare sector. This was where Denise became aware of the burdensome, red-taped and ineffective local and state government. Thus, knowing she knew as much as the ones in office, Denise started her secondary career in public service for the citizens of Florida. First, she served eight terms in the Florida House of Representatives and is now a Florida senator. In both segments, she has been chair of several influential committees. When not in Tallahassee, you can find Denise - a mom and grandmother - serving as the hospital administrator for Florida Hospital Wauchula. Join me in congratulating Denise for a job well done! ❍ Tony Lauro Manager, New Business Development - Southeast Region Office: (704) 721-0006 * Cell: (954) 815-0445 Fax: (866) 535-3436 * Email: Karen Moore Distributor Area Manager 610-613-1630 Email: Jay Ruble Distributor Area Manager 609-206-2278 Email: ©2013 Sunoco, Inc. 726890_CompX.indd 1 726852_Sunoco.indd 1 29/12/14 4:06 PM Petrogram | Spring 12/18/14| 12:43 AM 2015 7
