P R E S I D E N T ' S L E T T E R THE 60TH ANNUAL FOOD Shippers of America Conference, titled "A Changing Environment Demands Changing Strategies," was a great success. Co-chairs Ross Cook, Gordon Trucking, and Kelly Stoeckigt, Johnsonville Sausage, put together an outstanding cast of speakers and panels that was inspiring and informing. Everyone will take home and share the growing collaborative tone we felt at this conference. If you missed it, you can find the presentations on our website at Even with the cold, rainy weather - which caused a few cancellations - there were more than 900 attendees at the March conference. That's fantastic! We now have 91 member companies. Although golf was difficult due to the weather, we did have teams that completed the course. We all look forward to warm weather at next year's conference at JW Marriott Desert Springs in Palm Desert, California. Six scholarships were awarded this year, for a total of $15,000. The $5,000 winner was Kate Hildebrand, who is graduating from the University of Minnesota's Carlson School of Management with a BS and a supply chain major. She has accepted a position with The 3M Company. We wish her all the best. FSA also made $5,000 in donations to both the San Antonio Food Bank and Feeding America. We look forward to hearing about the successful implementation of these ideas throughout the coming year.
